How to find your MSL Code using CDMA Workshop

Having your MSL code is useful for changing a multitude of advanced settings. Some Sprint users say all they had to do was call up Sprint technical support and they gave them their MSL code. Others have reported Sprint reps refusing to give it out. But don't worry that's not the only way you can get the MSL code. You can use CDMA Workshop software to do it as well.

  1. Before you connect your phone, remove your phone's microSD memory card.
  2. Connect your phone to your computer with the USB cable. Do not connect in "Mass Storage" mode.
  3. Open the CDMA Workshop program. (to learn how to get this program click here)
  4. Once on the MAIN tab, click the PORT button. From this popup, note the COM port your phone is on. Close the popup window.
  5. Select the COM port your phone is on from the upper right select menu on the MAIN tab under COM Settings (AT mode).
  6. Click the CONNECT button.
  7. After you connect, the phone verfies the connection at the bottom of the CDMA Workshop program.
  8. Click the READ tab next to CONNECT/DISCONNECT button on the Main tab.
  9. Your phone's unique information populates the left side of the CDMA Workshop program.
  10. Change to the SECURITY tab, and click the select SPC/User Lock on the bottom right and choose LG Method.
  11. Click read button and the number that pops up in the window is your 6-digit MSL code.
